Most computers have a built-in or peripheral set of speakers for audio output. However, if a computer has any additional audio output sources connected to it, such as headphones or an HDMI cable connected to a projector or interactive whiteboard, you may need to tell the computer from which output you want the audio to play.
Windows 10 Computer
Step 1: Click on the audio icon on the bottom right corner of your screen.
Step 2: Click on the arrow next to the currently selected device.
Step 3: The connected audio sources will display as a list. Select the preferred device.
On a Windows 11 computer, the interface will look a little different, but the steps are the same.

Apple Computer
Click on the Apple menu on the top left of your screen, and then click on "System Preferences." Next, click on the "Sound" button. Select the "Output" tab and then your desired output device.
You can also enable "Show volume in the menu bar" in your sound preferences to switch between output sources more quickly.
