Using a Windows Device

1. Connect Your Device to the Display

  • Using HDMI/VGA Cable:
    • Locate the HDMI or VGA port on your laptop and connect it to the corresponding port on the projector or external monitor.
    • If your laptop doesn’t have an HDMI/VGA port, use an adapter (e.g., USB-C to HDMI).
  • Using Wireless Connection:
    • Ensure the projector or external display supports Miracast or a similar wireless standard.
    • Press the Windows key + K to open the "Connect" panel.
    • Select the display from the list of available devices.

2. Configure the Display Settings

  • Keyboard Shortcut:
    • Press Windows key + P to bring up the display options.
    • Choose from:
      • Duplicate: Shows the same screen on both devices.
      • Extend: Expands your desktop across both screens.
      • Second screen only: Turns off the laptop screen and uses only the external display.

  • Through Display Settings:
    • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
    • Adjust resolution, scaling, and arrangement as needed.

3. Troubleshooting

  • Ensure both devices are powered on and connected.
  • Update your display driver if the connection is not working.
  • Check the input source on the projector/display matches the connection type (e.g., HDMI or VGA).


Using a Chromebook Device

1. Connect Your Device to the Display

  • Using HDMI/USB-C Cable:

    • Plug an HDMI cable into the Chromebook’s HDMI port or use a USB-C to HDMI adapter.
    • Connect the other end to the projector or monitor.

2. Configure the Display Settings

  • Display Mirroring:

    • By default, the Chromebook mirrors your display to the connected screen.
    • To extend your display:
      • Go to Settings > Device > Displays.
      • Toggle the option for "Mirror built-in display" off to extend.
  • Adjusting Resolution:

    • Access Settings > Device > Displays.
    • Choose the desired resolution or scale for the external display.

3. Troubleshooting

  • Check the input source on the projector or monitor matches the Chromebook's connection type.
  • Ensure the external display is powered on and connected.
  • Restart your Chromebook if the display isn’t detected.
